Are you familiar with Hydrovac Slurry Treating project? What equipment do they use for treating the hydrovac slurry? It is not easy to remove the solids from this kind of slurry if you don’t have a clear and efficient solution. Luckily, GN Solids Control is quite professional in such designs. Here is a case in North America using GN hydrovac Slurry Treating System.

There are several steps for separating the hydovac slurry, because of the different size particles’ distributions.

 

1. Shaker with Coarse screens: The slurry is transferred to the first step for separation, which are coarse shakers with steel mesh of 3mm. By using 1 or 2 sets of this shaker, the large particles or rocks could be removed from the slurry.

2. Shale shaker with fine screens:The fine screens can range from API 10 to API 400. Normally, the fine screens are used to remove particles up to 100 microns. GN provide composite material shaker screens for the fine shakers. Fine shakers are always located below coarse shakers to enhance efficiency and reduce space occupation.

3. Cyclones are next step separation. There are 10 inch desander cones and 4 inch desilter cones fed by centrifugal pumps, which are used to choose out particles below 40 microns and below 20 microns.

4. After the cyclones comes the decanter centrifuge with big bowls. The centrifuges are always quite useful and vital as final separation step to remove particles from 2 to 5 microns. For this project, there are 2 big bowl centrifuges involved for a large treating volume.
