For most drilling companies, their main work is drilling only and all related drilling mud treatment works are done by other oilfield service companies, like the drilling cutting waste treatment, and drilling fluid treatment. And main equipment for the drilling cuttings separation includes vertical cuttings dryer and decanter centrifuges.
GN Solids Control are professional in such equipment providing and many international oilfield service companies are GN’s clients. For example, for the oil based mud cuttings, clients always use GN Vertical Cuttings Dryers and Decanter Centrifuges:

dav
  1. GNCD930D vertical cuttings dryer: this is especially designed for the oil based mud cuttings. The working principle is like the drying procedure of a washing machine. By high speed rotating, the cuttings are stopped by the screen basked and then fall down to below, while the mud are splashed out of screen basket. After separation, the oils on cutting will be reduced to below 0.5%. GNCD series cuttings dryers are also equipped with a flushing system with a flushing pump, which could help the machine from being blocked and enhance the efficiency.
  2. GNLW363-VFD decanter centrifuge. It is used to further separate the drilling fluids discharged from the vertical cuttings dryer, cause although the cutting waste from the vertical cuttings dryer are already dry, talking about the liquid discharged from vertical cuttings dryer, there are still some fine particles inside, only to be separated by decanter centrifuge. GNLW363 is the most popular model, and there are bigger models available too, like 18 inch, 22 inch and even 30 inch.
  3. During operation, the vertical cuttings dryer and decanter centrifuge should be positioned on a skid at certain height for the liquid to fall down with gravity. For this purpose, GN Solids Control designed the telescopic skids, and each skid has 3 optional heights for different conditions.
  4. Transferring equipment like the screw conveyors, kinds of pumps like the slurry pump, vacuum pump and etc.
