Mud Plant

Mud plant is set to storage and mix for drilling mud. For environmental reasons and restriction especially in land drilling operation, the drilling mud and cutting must be handled in an environmental safe condition. Therefore instead of storing and mixing the chemicals at individual rig site, majority of the oil companies are now adapting to have a central Liquid Mud plant, where the storage, handling and mixing and liquid storage are kept.

CBM Drilling

Coal bed methane extraction (CBM extraction) is a method for extracting methane from a coal deposit. CBM drilling mud is low density and viscosity and not high requirement on mud plant. As opposed to extracting gas from working mines, Coal Bed Methane (CBM)specifically exploits natural gases from unworked coal seams. Often called Virgin Coal Bed Methane (VCBM), the process involves drilling directly into the unworked coal. The way of determining whether or not gas is present in the coal, and can be produced commercially – varies from site to site. Indeed, studies have found that every coal seam is different in its characteristics. Essentially, the detailed appraisal process involves pumping water away from the coal seam, with the water saturation of the seam being a key factor in determining the viability.
