Each year, GN Solids Control produces and provided more than 200 sets for shale shakers for drilling rig solids control systems in more than 70 countries and regions in the world. Some equipment are exported together with GN’s system, some are exported separately to replace the old ones for existing system, or when clients are building tanks locally.

Recently, just in last month, GN Solids Control has shipped a complete mud solids control system to an Australian drilling company, and this system now is approaching the destination port in Australia, and is schedule to be put into use in early March. Besides the basic functions a solids control system could provide, this system for Australia must meet some extra requests specific to Australia and New Zealand projects, like the cable laying rules, the distances between each stair and etc. GN Solids Control has an engineer team with rich experiences and a strict QC department to survey the producing procedure and final products, that’s why clients are always happy with GN. In the past years, GN has provided to Australia and New Zealand many systems, including but not limited to following typical ones:

1. Webster drilling’s solids control system, which was fabricated by GN Solids Control years ago.

2. A helicopter lifting system with accurately calculated weights for each tank unit.

3. A 400BBL system with 2 mud tanks and 1 mixing hopper skid with limited height and minimum storage capacity.

And in HDD industry, GN Solids Control has delivered more than 30 sets of complete mud systems to Australia and GN Solids Control is the most famous Chinese brands, and one of the best known among international brands.

Although during the past 2 years, the waste management and environment protection proposals GN produced are occupying larger and larger share of all GN products, the traditional application GN Solids Control has been professional in has not lost it’s advantages. Recently, just when the oil and gas industry is picking up, GN’s international market is coming up again and a UAE client just purchased a 350GMP mud recycling system from GN Solids Control.
GNMS series mud recycling systems are one of the best seller products among all GN products, during those years, especially the 500 GPM mud recycling systems. In some jobsite, the 350 GPM mud system could serve as 500GPM mud recycling system, too.
This mud recycling system is combined by 2 phase separation equipment, plus a mixing unit. Depending on the limited space request on client’s jobsite, and also taking into consideration the transportation, the desander cones are not used in this system. For the first 2 level of separation, GN designed a double deck shaker, the lower shaker deck is served as shale shaker, with coarse meshes, .while the upper deck shaker is under the desilter cones, playing as the drying shaker for desilters.

On the other side of the tank, there is a mixing hopper, which is a common component of a mud recycling system for HDD projects. It is used to add and mix some necessary chemicals into the drilling mud.
Each year, GN Solids Control produces tens of mud recycling unit to the non-oil and gas industries, mostly for HDD, CBM, Water well drilling, TBM and Piling. All such mud systems could be grouped into 2:
1. Self-contained mud recycling systems with larger mud capacity and a mixing unit. Those systems, in application, are mostly used for HDD, CBM and etc. Normally, clients use a slurry pump to transfer mud from mud pit to this system and use mud pumps to suck out mud from the system.
2. Compact mud unit, without a mixing unit, mostly used for piling and TBM.

Just after GN Solids Control successfully brought out the powerful vacuum pump with a 40 cbm per hour transporting capacity, GN just released another vacuum pump, with smaller footprint and more portable than last one, with a treating capacity optional at 10 cbm per hour or 20 cbm per hour.

A vacuum pump is quite suitable for the sludge transferring. It could transfer the material with solids content up to 80%, that’s why it is also called a solids pump. It could be used for different applications and job conditions including but not limited to:
1. Drilling cuttings from the solids control system, like the shale shaker, mud cleaner and etc.
2. It could be used for the drilling mud transportation.
3. For the drilling waste pit cleaning work, when transferring the pit bottom material.
4. Tank cleaning, like the crude oil tank cleaning, frac tank cleaning and etc.
5. It is quite suitable for oily sludge separation systems for the high density and high viscosity material transferring.
6. Animal waste transportation.
In a word, this vacuum pump is suitable for quite comprehensive industries, because of its several features:
It can handle large particles: with particle size up to 50mm.
High density: up to 80% solids content.
Long distance: this pump could suck material from 50 meters away and transfer to 500 meters’ distance.
Besides its powerful performances, it is also a safest solution. It is fully air operated. During operation, there is no need for electricity in the whole procedure. That’s why it could be used in Zone 1 area. Inside the pump, there’s no movable part. By using an air compressor of different air supply capacity, this same model GNSP-20A vacuum pump can give 2 different transferring capacities, respectively 10 cbm per hour and 20 cbm per hour.
Cause each jobsite has a different layout design. Client could choose a fixed pump or a portable one. Comparing with the GNSP-40A, the larger vacuum pump, this portable GNSP-20A vacuum pump equipped with wheels is more popular than the fixed one.

In order to reach some separation results, especially in case of physical separation, the shale shakers always play important roles and handles most of the separation work. GNZS706E-HB Shale shaker, with 2 shaker deck and totally 6 pieces of shaker screens, is one of the best seller model among GN shale shakers. Main specification and features as below:
1. Shaker deck number: 2 decks.
2. Treating capacity: 120 cubic meters per hour.
3. Screen quantity: 6 pces, including 3 pieces of upper layer and 3 pieces of lower layer.
4. Screen size: upper layer size 2.0 m2, while lower deck layer 2.63m2.
5. Vibration motors, from Italy Brand Oli, with 1.94kw of each motor.
6. Vibration amplitude from 4.14 to 5.96 mm.
Double deck shaker is a compact solution. In some cases, when operator has a limited space or considers to reduce the power horse of the whole system, but meanwhile, he requests to meet a certain treating result. A double deck shaker is a perfect solution. The upper layer screens are using coarse meshes and lower layer screens are finer. But there’s no need for a feeding pump as is used for feeding the desander or desilter cones.

GN Solids Control is one of the leading brands for solids control and waste management system, and second to none ranks among Chinese manufacturers in this industry. Drilling cuttings are solids discharge from the drilling rig solids controls system, from the shakers, desander and desilters. After the solids control system’s first 3 phases separating, the drilling fluids are returned back to the system without the solids particle. But the separated-out particles are still too wet. For one thing, it is a waste for valuable drilling fluid. Secondly, it could damage to the environment if disposed directly. That’s why it is not only necessary but also mandatory to do some further treatment for the drilling cuttings.
GN Solids Control has zero discharge solutions for both WBM and OBM. And this order, combining the vertical cuttings dryer and decanter centrifuge, is for the oil based mud. A vertical cuttings dryer is specially designed for the oil based mud separation. GNCD930 series vertical cuttings dryers could dry the drilling cuttings to reach OOC value to 5%. The vertical cuttings dryer is running as the drying step of a washing machine. The vertical cuttings dryer is equipped with a screen basket with certain mesh number. Fluids pass the mesh and collected, while cuttings are stopped by mesh and falls down.
GNLW series decanter centrifuges with VFD control panels are used after the vertical cuttings dryer to remove the particles from 2 to 5 microns from the liquid. Most common model is GNLW363CG-VFD, a medium sized centrifuge with a high rotating speed. But for bigger treating capacity, GN has GNLW453C-VFD and GNLW553-VFD available, both of high rotating speed while bowl sizes are respectively 18 inch and 22 inch. In this project, clients chose GNLW453C-VFD.

A solidification unit or called solidification system is an efficient and economic solution for the treatment of drilling cuttings from both oil based mud and water based mud. Besides, it could also handle the sludge from some cuttings or waste pit. The principle is not so complicated, but the performance and continuous working ability are defining a solidification unit.

Since three years ago when GN Solids Control firstly designed and put into use the first set of GNGH Solidification unit, with the valuable feedbacks and experiences from both domestic China and abroad, GN improved the solidification unit several times. In a result, it is now more human oriented and easier to operate. This ready for delivery solidification unit is a newly designed one, and it would be its first show on client’s jobsite in a few days. It has following features comparing with previous design:

1. It is more compact than before, with a smaller cuttings feeding hopper just above the coulter mixer the solidification unit itself are changed from two pieces into one piece. It is easier for transportation and later rig up on jobsite after transportation.
2. This new one is automatically controlled by a PLC control panel. All electrical components from brand Schneider, ABB or Siemens. Main operating data could be seen clearly on the screen and touching screen is easy for operators to control.
3. Mixing time could be controlled automatically and manually. Comparing with last model, this one is equipped with an electrical valve on discharge port of the unit, by using this, the operator could control the time period for the material to stay in the mixer for a better and adjustable mixing result.
4. Three VFD’s for the feeding. In this system, there are 3 feeding hoppers, all of which are VFD controlled by the control panel, then the fed proportion of chemicals, cement and cuttings could be adjusted according to the on time being conditions.
